3, 2, 1… into the water we go: Zurich’s swimming spots by the numbers

99.5 metres / 509 metres
Swimming’s not really your thing? That’s no reason to avoid the lidos. If you jump off every diving board once, you’ll have covered 99.5 metres (flown, perhaps?). And if you go down every slide once, you’ll have slipped a total of 509 metres.
110 francs ÷ 8 francs = 13.75
A single entry to a Zurich swimming facility costs 8 francs, while a seasonal sports pass for the summer costs 110 francs. So, from your 14th visit onwards, the pass pays off financially – and for children and young people, it’s worth it even sooner.
A low price isn’t the only benefit of a sports pass:
You don’t have to queue anymore, you can access any lido, it’s worth popping in even just before closing time – and best of all, you no longer need to worry about remembering your card. The digital pass is always with you on your smartphone.

2.04 million visitors
That’s how many people visited Zurich’s summer lidos in 2024 – with a record 63,000 entries on the busiest day. (You really won’t want to be stuck queuing.)
130 visitors
That’s how many visitors were spread across all the lidos on a random rainy grey morning in May 2025, according to the live online visitor tracker.
197 days
That’s how long the summer season lasts at the lidos with the longest opening periods: Seebad Utoquai and Freibad Seebach are open from 12 April to 26 October. And at Utoquai, winter swimming in the lake is also available at weekends throughout the colder months.
22 concerts / 15 films
Zurich’s lidos are also cultural venues: for example, Seebad Enge and Frauenbadi host a total of 22 concerts, while Unterer Letten holds 15 open-air cinema nights. And in the evenings, some summer lidos transform into open-air bars serving countless delicious drinks. So even if you’re not a water lover, you’re still in exactly the right place.
