Climate cynicism? When your friends casually mention they are off to foreign climes every available holiday and Landiwiese looks more like landfill after a warm summer’s day, you might be forgiven for being a little bit cynical.

That is why Tanzhaus Zürich are hosting a monthly series of events using creativity as a means for environmental change. Tonight, Zamzam Ibrahim and Farah Ahmed challenge climate cynicism with laughter and, understandably, a little bit of rage.

After an evening of discussing the environment, you are probably going to need a drink. Fortunately, for beer lovers at least, we have the Zürich Beer Festival, which will be taking place in Altstetten on Friday and Saturday. Lots of local breweries are represented and you have the opportunity to sample brews from as far afield as Canada, South Korea and even Ukraine. If anyone deserves a good beer, it’s those guys.

Schiwago, with its natural awning, was a bit of a Wiedikon institution. But things change and move on. The green canopy has gone and the French bistro style has been replaced with a bright, clean, new feel. I popped into et cetera, Zurich’s newest café, to find out what was on the menu.
