One Of a Million Festival or OOAM for short, turns Baden into an atmospheric music playground from 6–14 February 2026, just a 20‑minute train ride from Zurich. Sounds spill into unexpected venues across town: intimate spaces like the Stanzerei and Royal, chapels, club rooms and outdoor corners, with around 40+ acts from numerous countries blending genres in ways that reward curious ears. Free city concerts sit alongside ticketed evening shows, and the festival thrives on discovery, access and community. As Baden is already a town steeped in musical traditions, OOAM, (i love saying OOAM,) strengthens their credentials even further.

As I was researching the gig list last week, I found that one artist was still playing while I wrote. That artist was Mon Rovia, the Liberian-born singer-songwriter who was adopted in the US and first introduced to folk music in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This Tuesday, he brings his bittersweet folk, tinged with West African influences, to the stage at Plaza.

Photography, design, illustration, visual playfulness. Less bang crash wallop, more oooh aaah wow. February belongs to Janine Wiget, whose work I am about to introduce to you. I asked her a few questions about her art, her inspiration and more.

So that you can always find exquisite cheese too, I have put together a list of my favourite addresses here. Cheese is, of course, delicious all year round, but during the colder months it is especially comforting. And that is when it really helps to know where the nearest cheese shop is.
