1. NegrellistegIt seems like yesterday that the Negrellisteg was opened but it’s been a part of the city since March 2021. This pedestrian bridge, connecting districts 4 and 5, isn’t just a practical link between Bierwerk and Amboss Rampe, neighbourhoods. The sunset here—above the tracks of the main station—is especially stunning.

2. Kornhausbrücke
The Kornhausbrücke is another lovely spot to pause and take in the sunset—either before or after a dip in the Limmat. With the view of the river and the swimmers in it, my Züri heart can’t help but skip a beat.

3. Zürihorn
If you prefer your sunsets a little more idyllic, I recommend a little trip to the Zürihorn. Right by the lake, it’s the perfect place to unwind—and once the sun has set, you can lie back on the grass and gaze up at the stars.

4. Amtshaus Zürich
The Urania Observatory, built in 1905, is a Zurich landmark—and a little urban gem, both inside and out. The sunset really brings out its best side, especially when viewed from the Amtshaus.

5. On the Lake
The full-immersion sunset experience doesn’t happen at the lake, but on it—so grab a pedalo or a SUP board and head out onto the water. Just don’t wait until it’s completely dark to return to shore.

Believe it or not, I only recently discovered the view of the city from Käferberg. But wow—what a discovery.

10. Zurich Airport (Kloten)
Of course, sunsets above the clouds in a plane are hard to beat. But even from the ground, the sunsets at the airport can be absolutely stunning.
A true feast for the eyes! But let’s be honest—sunsets are beautiful almost everywhere in Zurich.
Where’s your favourite spot to watch them? Let me know in the comments!
