Just please make sure if you visit Israel, you also go to the West Bank / Palestine. It is not dangerous and Ramallah is fun city. You will however also see the wall and how many settlements there are... too many... Soldiers are young and moody. The Qalandia check point breaks your heart. Nablus is my favorite city. Hebron is the craziest. Jerusalem is also crazy. Go to the roof of the Austrian Hospice, amazing view. Also a good place to stay in the old city. With a rental car you can get from the Sea, Jaffa to the Dead Sea in about 3 hours - or less depending on where. It is just important to have both perspectives. Gas is not cheap, but the rentals are good. If you have the Israeli stamp in your passport - you cannot visit Lebanon, Iran or Syria... Ask for a stamp on separate page, sometimes they do it, sometimes not. The trip to Jordan is also worth it, Wadi Rum is the most amazing desert I have ever seen. (I lived in Ramallah two years. I love Palestine. I hate the wall and the conflict. Apartheid is unacceptable.) Here is a good website in English. http://www.thisweekinpalestine.com/
