My paintings are created intuitively.
Although I consciously turn away from realistic depictions, recognizable forms emerge during painting. I often take these and deform, decompose or partly paint them over again with further abstract forms, colors as well as luminosity or design. Sometimes though, I let what is supposed to come. Then it has a legitimate place in the painting. This interplay between the figurative and more expressive abstraction and almost sketchy representations is exciting. Due to the dynamically positioned elements, the overall appearance resembles a narrative. It allows the observer to savor the infinite horizon of their own fantasy and at the same time to interpret its own story.
I live and work in Zürich.
