If the trial conducted back in the days was fair or not, I can't say.. from what I can read in the press it most likely was not a fair trial. But again.. this does not make him immune to a international warrant issued today.

@mary_jane_louis It doesn't matter if the victim has forgiven polanski or not... fact is he did rape that child when she was 13 years old and should have gotten his punishment for that long ago.. those are facts.. I don't care if it's polanski, steven spielberg or tom hanks.. if they have comitted rape they should pay the price. 30 years later or 50 years.. it doesn't make me feel any diffrent. and if the victim is saying that she wants to settle this.. fair enough..but that does not change the law or the way the officials should handle that case-. IMHO I just think there is absolutely no excuse for rape and child molestation !!!

Well, if he did rape that girl back 30 years and he never went through proper trial, then yes arrest him and ship him out to the states. I don't get all the crowd saying it's has been 30 years ago.. what ever.. only because he's a filmmaker doesn't make him not gulity of what he has done. He should have faced the consequences of his behavior way back and he would be a free man today.. but getting away with rape.. NO WAY! Good thing they arrested him now and he has to go to court and get the verdict.
