It’s known that Alte Börse is a good place to start your warm up for the weekend on Thursdays. But this week is special. Bonaparte presents their new album My Horse Likes You. The wild garage rock band from Germany mixes everything from Zeppelin riffs to electro bass. The singer dresses like Napoleon (hence the name of the band) and likes to be called emperor. The show and the audience itself are usually worth going to a concert of Bonaparte, it’s like viewing a theatre spectacle. I have two pair of tickets to give away.

If fashion and music are your thing, you have to venues to choose from this Thursday. The store Fashionslave at Viadukt hosts a jukebox night, with sounds from the forties to the eighties, Dress accordingly! At the same time, the venue Opia shows their autumn and winter collection and offers cocktails, nibbles and sounds by dj Jewl.

Viadukt starts to become the place to be at any night of the week. This Saturday, Mama Rosin play their garage house and roots at restaurant Viadukt. So you can go the restaurant for food from 6 pm and then enjoy the live concert by the guys from Geneva at 9.

No, I’m not talking about Jane Fonda, but the club which used to be near Turbinenplatz (just behind Laborbar). Very close to that old favourite of mine, Pfingstweide opens its doors this Saturday. It’ll be an electronic night. From now on there’ll be regular parties combined with art projects from the Dada House.

We Have Band from the UK are back in Exil. As their indie rock combined with electro pop sound is really good, we don’t mind that it’s only been half a year since their last concert in our beloved town. I have two pair of tickets to give away.

We love to eat – it’s buffet time. This event at Revier functions like a standard pot luck. Bring your favourite dish and eat what you like. Revier offers plates and cutlery and for drinks the bar is open (but not free of course).

The Swiss sometimes seem obsessed with their sausages. Especially in autumn, when many restaurants serve Metzgete. This prosaic term actually means slaughter. This reflects an ancient seasonal custom to slaughter non-essential animals, before the winter set in. Blood and liver couldn’t be conserved and were turned into sausages to be eaten right away. Today the sausages are still as fresh and typically served with sweet apple slices or sauerkraut. Restaurants usually offer it only for a few days with sausages and meat from the butcher of their choice. Two have it during the next days: Gartenhof: 19-23 Oct and Köchlistube: 27-29 Oct.

Hubertus, the venue we recommended a few times for parties, opened its doors as a restaurant this week. The venue is also open for lunch. The menu usually consist of one vegetarian dish, one fish dish and a meat dish. Sound s good and the venue is beautiful. I’m so glad that this old building was spared.

 The Coachella Festival in California provides space for both music and art. Installations and sculptures beautify the festival area every year. The good news is: you don't need to travel to the States to get a glimpse of it. Go on a virtual walk trough the festival area or watch the ingenious stop motion video.
