 Theatre
Theatre Theater Spektakel: Several different venues host renowned and up-and-coming theatre artists from all over the world in a huge variety of shows - so don't worry about your lack of German. A few teasers: Plan B by Cie 111 & Phil from France, sees four young performers defying gravity. Membros, founded in 1999 in Brazil, melds street dance and hip hop in radical, energetic performances. And Anarchy in the Ukulele brings eight English musicians to Zurich – combining their musical talent and a British sense of humour. Although lots of shows are already sold out, do try your luck as there are always last-minute tickets at each site's box office.

 Party on
Party on Feel good music: Don Ramon, San Marco, Styro2000, Bang Goes, Stereobrothers…  almost the whole complement of Zurich's minimal DJs. Need I say more? Only that Stereobrothers are celebrating their party label's 3rd birthday.

 Open air
Festival: I'm not willing to give up on the summer just yet and Werdinsel is probably one of the best locations for an open air concert to keep the faith. Styles range from electro to rap and from reggae to alternative rock. Free of charge.
Friday/Saturday Werdinsel
 Label night
Label night First time: Never heard King of the Remote play live? No worries - as this is only their second ever live show! Spezialmaterial presents their latest signing and a mixture of lo-fi acts that cross musical genres.
Saturday, midnight Zukunft

 Cinema
Flower power: Hair and Easy Rider, shown back to back. Two classic films that certainly evoke teenage years and probably don't need any introduction. Let's make love, not war...
Sunday, 7.30 & 9.45 pm Xenix

 Midweek affair
Midweek affair Andy Butler: The man behind Hercules And Love Affairs mixes Chicago House and Detroit Techno creating a new dynamic sound that's different - in a very good way indeed.

 Good to know
Good to know Bikes: Unlike Beijing, Zurich doesn't have billions of bikes. But every day, no less than 65,000 people cycle through the city. Join them! Free bikes: From May to October you can borrow bikes free of charge at several places all over the city. Buy a bike: It's best to buy second-hand because thefts of brand new bikes happen as often as "Cumulus-karte?" is asked at Migros! You'll find second-hand bikes at the Kanzlei flea market on Saturdays or at this auction.

 Eating
Local dish: Züri Gschnätzlets, our local dish, is so tasty it's addictive (in a meaty way). If you've never tasted it, you'll have to try it. And once you know how good it is, you'll want it again and again. Restaurant: The Züri Gschnätzlets gold medal goes to Kronenhalle, thanks to Hulda Zumsteg, who brought the recipe to the world after taking over the eaterie in 1925. According to urban myth, she may even have invented Rösti. On screen: Neither veal nor Rösti but nontheless a feast for the eyes. The DVD "Zürich Gschnätzlets" serves 20 cineastic bites dating from 1905 to 2003 and are all about Zurich.

looking for english speaking network: Hi There, I'd recommend Meetup.com for group events. There's quite a few groups listed in Zurich and something for everyone. I presonally like the 'Zurich meetup' (as it's the original and largest one with approx 800 memebers.. in fact, I liked it so much I'm the organiser now ;o) http://nightlife.meetup.com/305/ Loads of events from afterwork drinks to VIP nights at some of the best venues in town. It's 'new in town' focused and we're a friendly bunch who make the effort to include new memebers, cos we were all there once too... It's all about fun, laughs and meeting great new people... Hope it helps. Jake
