Out with the old and in with the new. As we say goodbye to a long and cold January we say hello to a new and short, (but probably equally cold,) February. But another new thing that i am doing is featuring a gig list for the entire month meaning that you can plan a little bit further in advance when it comes to buying them tickets. Give my love to the city

I like to be spontaneous and love to tell you about the best gigs on a weekly basis. But i also know that you might be different from me, that you've already done all your weekly shopping on Mondays, that you've already booked your trip in July and that you've probably already wrapped your Christmas presents for 2023. So just for you Ronsters i have come up a list of the hottest gigs in Zurich during the month of February.

As i said previously in the newsletter i am going to be doing a list of gigs each month, (which you can find here,) but that doesn’t mean i’m not going to feature my picks each week. This week, larger than life bass player Mono Neon visits Moods. Know for his colourful garb as well as his amazing playing Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers described him as, «the greatest f*cking electric bass player.» Oh yeah, and he played with Prince! It’s gonna be a groovy night!

Although we are not quite at spring this seems to be the season for rebirth as there is a couple of new places opening this week. A new bar and a pop up restaurant to keep you excited but also fed and watered. There is also some great music as well as a fantastic way to enjoy the full moon. Here’s my agenda for the first week of February.

Thursday: A new place to grab a drink.

Thursday: MonoNeon gets Moods moving.
Friday: Time to taste some wine.
Saturday: Wellness for werewolves in Hürlimann spa.
Monday: The Black Angels visit Dynamo.
Wednesday: A new culinary pop-up.

Goodness me, January has been long. But now it’s February and we have a new month and a new comic illustrator. This month we feature Columbian artist Power Paola. I’m particularly excited about her purple portrait series which she, as she reveals in her interview, drew in the cafés of Buenos Aries just for you lovely Ronsters and I. Oooooohhhh. A new pop-up restaurant over in Kreis 6 is opening it’s doors this coming Wednesday with the slightly untranslatable name «Chlapf». I guess its means «Bam» but it can also mean «car!» Any hoo, what sort of cuisine does «Chlapf» serve? It’s a secret but what i do know is that it is already starting to sell out and for, (a very reasonable,) 89 CHF for a 5 course meal you can see why.
