i thought putting the clocks forward was going to be done away with. The EU have been toying with the idea forever and there may even be an environmental justification for changing things. But things are the way they are and this Monday you will see sleep deprived folks stumbling their way into work, deprived by modern technology, (and by me…just now,) of the «i forgot to but my clock forward» excuse.

But the plus side? We have long warm nights, bike rides, barbecues and refreshing dips in the lake to look forward to as summer is on its way again. Have a great weekend and…

Give my love to the city

Oof! It’s a music heavy week. There’s the M4M music festival happening over the weekend with various acts happening at various locations, or UK musician Billy Nomates at Bogen F on Tuesday. Of course, if you’re week is packed enough as it is, and you’d rather have a chill weekend, you can go shopping for records at the Schallplattenbörse to enjoy at home, on the couch. Or the floor. Whichever you prefer. On Wednesday, you can enjoy a small, intimate show courtesy of Ron Voyage. There’s also some stand up at Photobastei or an art evening at the Migros art museum.

Now that the covid years are, (hopefully,) confined to the annals of history it is going to be nice to see the full return of the M4Music festival which is taking place in various locations in the orbit of Schiffbau. If you travel regularly through Kalkbreite you will know the small cinema Arthouse-Uto. The small cinema takes you back to a bygone age, before the enormous corporate multiplexes, and personally i love it’s neon sign, it’s non-digital displays and or course, the gargoyle on the corner of the building. Sadly the cinema is under threat as the building is being set to be redeveloped and the building owners have refused to renew the lease.
