  Back to the future: is old news because the "Future is Now" - I love that name. As well as Zeughaus, Walcheturm and Zukunft, other venues feature a wide selection of current electro DJs highlighting the cultural and economic relevance of Zurich's club scene. Ron has 2 pairs of 3-day festival passes to give away.

Look ma, no brakes: More than you ever wanted to know about bikes on display at the Bicycle Film Festival starting on 16 Oct at Grand Gallery. As a pre-launch to the festival, Stash and Futura 2000 (one of NYC's first graffiti sprayers) show off their artwork on Colnago bicycle frames and other bike gear. There'll be music, food and drinks.

  Goodbye: This is the last Forget Zurich party at Toni Molkerei, where we danced and drank and flirted - and which'll be torn down in 81 days and reopened as an art school. We'll miss it. All DJs - including the Ron Orp DJ team - will try to make this an unforgettable night. It'll be fun but a bit sad.

Laugh? I nearly died: Phil Kay from Scotland and Stuart Goldsmith from England headline at Mascotte bringing wry British humour to the stage in the Funny Laundry season. A ticket includes discounted entry to the club after the show, so guffaw and then groove without greasing too many palms.

  City view: sometimes, it's just nice to cast an eye over the city in which you live - so here are the best areas for a bird's-eye view. Polyterrasse: This classic - in front of the main building of the ETH - has been renovated but the perfect view remains the same. Jules Verne bar: Another classic - take the lift to the top, put a cocktail in your hand and drink-in the panoramic view. Grossmünster: The typical tourist trap and a lot of stairs to climb. Freitag-Tower: The nu-tourist spot. Only, the smell of plastic is a bit off-putting! Loorenkopf w ooden tower: It's 33 meters high, in the forest on the Adlisberg. Oerlikerturm: Rise up to 35 metres in the middle of the new Oerlikon district.
