Zurich (EN) : Zurich 2.11.2023: Tacos, Onno and Jazz

Good Morning Ronster

So, did you enjoy this year's spoooooky Halloween? I saw quite a few great costumes, including a guy in a full T-Rex suit giving away... peanuts? It was weird, which i guess was the whole point. There was also a full moon over the weekend, to welcome in the Halloween season.

But that's over now. It's the beginninng of November, which means we tear down the Halloween decorations and welcome two months of Christmas music. It's a love-hate relationship, isn't it? The city has been a bit quiet lately, but there's still quite a lot to do. So strap in, stay warm and of course,

Give my love to the city.

Ron's Weekly Agenda

It seems that, as we head into the winter-y months, the city also decides it's time to quiet down. Hibernate. Take a break as it were. We find ourselves in a weird limbo - Halloween is over, and outdoor activities are a thing of the past, and yet it's too early for Christmas markets and mulled wine (is it ever too early for mulled wine?) But don't worry, i've still found some happenings around the city for you. There's the gig list, a pop-up, and i'm giving away tickets.

Thursday:
A new Mediterranean pop-up pops up.
Friday: The Headhunters play JazzNoJazz and i have tickets to give away.
Friday: Tacos, Mariachi and Cerveza at Dr Brauwolf’s Mexican Fiesta.
Saturday: Onno celebrates it's first year
Tuesday: Twofer Tuesday- a couple gigs for ya

Comic in November: Martin Oesch

Well, this year has just been chugging along. I realize this every time i receive a new comic for the month. In November you can enjoy drawings by Martin Oesch which depict images from his current project and deal with one of his professions: being a butcher. In the interview i did with him, you can read what else he is working on, which one is his favourite drawing, and what he wanted to be when he was a kid.

Ron's Guide To This Months Flea markets

An ex-pat friend was complaining about the cost of…well...everything in Zurich. But if you join in the circular economy there is some big savings to be made. Whether it's thermal underwear to warm you up, a lava lamp for the ambience, board games for cosy game nights, skis for the snow season or Advent decorations: you're sure to find something suitable for you at the November flea markets and bazaars.
