Remember the Böögg? I know i cast doubt on the accuracy of the Böögg in predicting the weather, but since Sechseläuten, summer hasn’t really gotten going, has it? This weekend, the Böögg is finally going to meet its end with the ceremony taking place in Appenzell, hopefully heralding the start of summer. Okay, Ronster, I know that the weather for the past few days has been great, but I’d like it to stay that way, so burn it, shoot it, nuke it…let’s get the Böögg burnt quickly and get summer reloaded! Basel in summer feels a bit like being freshly in love: Everything is prettier, things are getting hotter, it never gets boring, and there's always something new to discover. So I thought now’s the perfect time to date my way through this city of art, hearts and culture – will you come along for the ride?

Sports, be it boxing, football or whatever are a great way of levelling up disadvantaged people and the Chill Foundation, which was established by Jake & Donna Carpenter of Burton Snowboards, has been using board sports to inspire motivate young people. This weekend the «Ride for Chill» event will bring board sport legends and athletes José Fernandes, Fabien Rohrer, Berenice Wicki to Fischers Fritz for a day where you won’t be bored! There’s opportunities to go wakeboarding, skateboarding and win loads of prizes…in fact way too much to mention here. Klink-Klank – oh, how I love the sound. The metallic clang of a direct hit with a Pétanque ball is unmistakable and belongs to summer just as much as melting ice cream and the plastic fragrance of air mattresses. This month, we have been accompanied in the newsletter by the drawings of Tizian Merletti. I had a chat with him and he told me quite a bit about himself - for example, that he prefers to draw only in black and white, that he grew up in a village with a roundabout and clubs, and that he now lives in Turin.
