A million people will descend on the city for the biggest party of the year and i have come up with a list of places that are partying along side the Street Parade or keeping the party going late. It’s a bit party heavy this week but i make no apologies. It’s the biggest party of the year, isn’t it?

Thursday: Get warmed up for the big weekend
Thursday: Live music heads to Winterthur
Friday: Dance to your own groove at the silent disco
Saturday: It’s the big one. Street Parade is back
Sunday: Carry on the party on Sunday…

It’s the big one! One of the biggest events in Zurich’s calendar attracting over a million revellers to the city. No, i’m not talking about my birthday party, i’m talking about the Street Parade. Now i’m sure that you Ronsters know the drill here; The city is turned upside down and everyone has a great time. But what about when the big sound system in Sechseläutenplatz powers down for the last time but you are still full of energy? I’ve come up with a list of clubs and «Off Parade» venues that will keep the party going.

p.s. If you are visiting the Street Parade for the first time here are my tips:

Flip flops won’t cut it. Lot’s of cans, glass and unidentified fluids on the floor.
Bring plenty of sunscreen. It get’s pretty brutal if it is sunny.
Pace yourself! Street Parade is a marathon not a sprint. You ain’t going to enjoy it if you are passed out by three o’clock in the afternoon. Drink plenty of water and consume whatever you are consuming in moderation.

As a child, Sandro Ramseier dreamed of becoming a ghost train engineer, guerrilla fighter, or detective. However, things turned out quite differently. Today, he’s a passionate comic artist and, at the end of 2023, published his comic debut «Shantiland.» In the next few weeks, we'll see a wild cross-section of this work. In the interview, Sandro shared what brings him joy, the current challenges in his life, and some little-known facts about him. Here is the full interview with him.

Last week, I had to transport some bulky items around the city but renting a car seemed so over the top. My second thought was to try a cargo bike but where do i get one of those from? Fortunately i found the Carvelo platform which provides a solution for cargo bikes. With the app, (which is for iOS and Android,) you can rent and return cargo bikes in loads of locations throughout Switzerland. I got some exercise and it’s good for the environment. Everyone’s a winner!
