Welcome to October and welcome to Autumn, or Fall if you're from the other side of the lake. I always think the German word for autumn fits really well. «Herbst!» It just fits for the season to my ears. Any hoo, summer is most definitely over and the city is getting busy. We have the film festival, the Dolder ice rink is opening this weekend and i found a massive 56 shows for this months gig list. Well, 57 if you include the Lizz Wright show, for which I have tickets to give away. Have a great weekend and don't forget...

Oh, the glamour of celluloid (or as my spell check amusingly suggested, cellulite). The red carpet is rolled out tonight for the first day of the Zurich Film Festival, and you are truly in for a treat. First, check out the programme here. It’s really clear and well organised with filters. Second, buy a ticket for a film or one of the fabulous side events! Third, try and spot a celebrity and get that perfect shot for social media. There some real A list guests this year including Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Richard Gere & even Pamela Anderson. You have ten days… get cracking.

Lizz Wright first made a name for herself at age 22, singing the songs of Billie Holliday - that’s some pretty big shoes to fill, and fill them she did. Now the soul/blues chanteuse is touring her latest album «Shadow» and she is making her only appearance in Switzerland at the Kaufleuten thanks to my good friends at Allblues. Want to go see her?
