A lot of world class musicians visit Zurich and this Thursday is no different. Bass player, Tim Lefebvre is town this week and is completing a week of workshops at the ZHdDK with a show in the Mehrspur. If you are in doubt on his credentials he has played with The Tedeschi Trucks Band, played on David Bowies final album and is joining the Black Crowes. Check it out… It’s free with a collection.

Stage: Better Than The Title Suggests.

Christmas is a wonderful time but i know many people find it to be an orgy of consumerism and unbridled capitalism. If you need an antidote then Theatre Neumarkt are presenting part three of Mike Bonanno, Hayat Erdoğan & Jeremy Nedds dance adaptation of Howard McCoy’s classic depression novel, They Shoot Horses, Don’t they? The previous edition received rave reviews which you can read here.

Shopping tip: Her Name Was Lola, She Was A Vegan

Any regular visitors to Bahnhof Wiedikon will have noticed there is often graffiti extolling the virtues of veganism and gently critiquing those that still enjoy meat and dairy. Well, veganism is about to become a lot easier as Lola’s Kitchen are opening a vegan cake shop selling guess what? That’s right, vegan cakes. But as well as removing the dairy, eggs etc they are cutting down on the refined sugars as well. Pay them a visit on their opening day.

Saturday 10:30am, Lola’s Daily Kitchen, Steinstrasse 27, 8003

Film: Inside Outside

This Monday and Tuesday the European Outdoor Film Tour visits Zurich for the last time before the roaring twenties begin. Don’t worry, you won’t have to watch the film outdoors. Instead you will have a comfortable seat in the Volkshaus and watch as others freeze themselves to death doing mind bogglingly brave things that us mere mortals wouldn’t even attempt.

Monday & Tuesday, Volkshaus, Stauffacherstrasse 60, 8004
