It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas. The markets are in full swing, the glühwein is flowing and the only thing that is missing is a blanket of snow in the city. That said, it can be a stressful time, especially if you are struggling to find the right gifts. Starting on Thursday, Kosmos is hosting the 5th Human Rights Film Festival Zurich featuring films exploring migration, LGBTI-rights and a spectrum of other related topics. As well as watching the films, visitors are invited to take part in panel discussions after the films and the debate continues in nearby Kasheme and the Kosmos bar. As the curators of the festival wish to keep it as inclusive as possible holders of N and F resident permits can enter for free.

You all know my Ron Voyage event, don’t you? Well, this Thursday (and every Thursday up until Christmas,) we are taking over Heile Welt to present Oh Holy Ron Voyage. Unlike other Ron Voyage events you don’t need to book a ticket. Just rock up and enjoy the music…

What’s not to like about the 80’s? The music, gravity defying hairdos and shoulder pads that wouldn’t look out of place in Gridiron. Houdini are going to take you back with «Cocktails and Dreams», featuring a screening of the classic flick, «Gremlins». Included is a free cocktail and the party continues at the Houdini bar with plenty of 80’s hits.

With the great skies and snow peaked mountains in the background what could be better than donning your Santa outfit and heading down to the lake to do some stand up paddling. On Sunday Gearloose and SUP Yoga are organising a Christmas themed stand up paddle from Tiefenbrunnen down to Bellevue. Participation is open to anyone with a costume for a (smallish,) fee.
