The night market taking place at Frauenbadi (women’s pool area by Bürkliplatz) is fittingly called Fête des Femmes. There you’ll find novelties from LadyCups, objects to relish by Clitcare, decorations by Maschenbrödel and sweet cupcakes from Michelle. Lyn Lingerie with Noelie & Loulou show some fashion. The male visitors (yes, they are allowed in) will, at least, enjoy themselves during the burlesque act by Femme Fatale.

Michel Casarramona, a poster designer from Zurich, attended the Amsterdam Garage Sale twice, loved the atmosphere and decided to set up one in Zurich. Et voilà, today it opens its doors at Walcheturm. 18 artists – from tattooists to illustrators and comic designers - from the Netherlands and Switzerland display and sell their works. Musically Ophelias Iron Vest and Bluegrass & Country seal the Dutch-Swiss friendship project. I have 2x2 tickets to give away for the concert. Just send me a message. The entry to the market is free.

Between cute family homes, council estate and the suburban idyll hides the cute festival Vorstadt-Sounds. On its 11th edition, newcomers and established talents from Zurich and Switzerland play for two days. Those who dare to pass the invisible boarder between city and suburbia will get rewarded with acts by The Clowns, Icky Undressed or Tim & Puma Mimi. Each year, Rote Fabrik gets a facelift and this weekend it’s time again for the makeover. The Meeting of Styles invited 70 street artists from Switzerland and abroad who’ll be waving their spray cans at the factory. Djs and local rappers frame the open air event and on Saturday Chali 2na from Jurassic 5 plays at Clubraum.

Especially the older amongst you should be familiar with dj Shadow. He is one of the pioneers of Turntablism and wrote hip hop history with his debut Endtroducing. He is not afraid of mixing genres and combines experimental hip hop to rare grooves and soul everything that crosses his path. Stephen K Amos has been a regular on the international comedy circuit for years. He is a native Londoner, born into a large Nigerian family and happens to be gay, and although these elements of his life make their way into his comedy what he does best, when I’ve seen him, is to play the part of a comedy conductor, talking and interacting with the audience to create what feels like a two-way conversation but is really just a great comedian working the room. Stephen is performing at Kaufleuten, which is the first time the comedy meisters, Funny Laundry, have had a show at such a great venue. I have 1x2 tickets to give away. Send me a message.

I like uncomplicated get together whilst enjoying various delicacies. The Alte Löwe is idea for such happenings: Antipasti and tapas, followed by pasta and a meat dish with vegetables and side order. All dishes are placed in the middle of the table and everyone takes as much as he wants. A proper tavolata!

The old Rainbow Warrior from Greenpeace is, well, old, and has to be replaced. As this doesn’t come cheap, Greenpeace needs the help of friends of nature.
