Afterwork is happening at Amber today. Meet other expats and wine and dine football-free. If the weather plays along, the team will heat up the grill on the terrace. The GAF-Gruppe 4.08.zh is a group of self taught photographers, located in Zurich. From 19-27 June you can have a look at their works at Les Routiers at Weststrasse 145. The opening is this Friday. And if you’d like to join such a group, they’re currently looking for new members.

Zurich’s Festspiele start today, but the opening party won’t happen until Saturday: From 5-8 pm you find a theatre production about fairy tales for free at Gessnerallee and from 5.30-7.30 concerts in the courtyard. But my highlight will be the party Vive La Fete at 9.30 pm at Stall 6 with Djs Acid Pauli, Sven Dohse and Rumory

On Tuesday, I finally had a look at the temporary (until September) venue Emma&Urban at Kanonengasse. I like it! They offer room for projects and invite to own events. If you like sushi, visit them this Saturday and Emma shows you how to make your own rolls. They also show all the games btw.

Alvin Zealot is this month’s house band at La Catrina. Last week, I went to make sure that the band is as good live as it’s on MySpace. And indeed – the guys rocked! You still have two Tuesdays left, to go and see them live.

For those who can hold their drink: At Liquid bar you’ll get your 7. beer for free. And for each goal the Swiss team scores (yes, I believe there will be many!) there is beer on the house. And if you order a litre at once you’ll get a free Jägermeister. Oh yes, and if you can still keep your eyes open, they show the games on big screen. Cheers!

For those who like it different: The legendary sportsmen club represents a creative approach for the football world cup, for example its Zebra. This year it’s at the former restaurant Devine where the Inyama Master offers Meet&Sausages in the garden. Of course they also have African beer in stock. There isn’t a website, here’s the map.

For those who like to dance: Amboss Rampe invites to comfortable football viewing. As soon as the games are over the tables and benches are cleared away to make room for the party. And the beer is always fresh.

What happen if someone spills coffee during at meeting at the head quarter of BP? UCB Comedy knows it. Have a look at Youtube – though there’s actually nothing to laugh about.
