The opening of an exhibition with work by Ueli Alder, David Raymond Conroy, Lilly McElroy and Cecile Weibel begins with a performance this Wednesday at Dienstgebäude, The exhibition continues until the end of May, open every Friday and Saturday. On 21 May there will also be an Art + Argument debate, discussing high and low culture.

The French/German duo Stereo Total has been around for a while. But the two of them are fun to watch every time. They play on Thursday at Mascotte and it’s their only concert in Switzerland. And I have two pair of tickets to give away.

Urban Explosion is an exhibition with live painting, graffiti corner and after-party. Under the motto - art for all - the event entry is for free until 10 pm. It's at VBZ Werkstätte in Altstetten (Luggwegstrasse 65) but that shouldn't stop you to take this chance to broaden your horizon. Even if it's just by going out in a different neighbourhood for once. Moods, Exil and Bazillus - all three are clubs, host live acts, are located in Kreis 5 and together they are organising a Neighbourhood Festival this Saturday. In each club there are two live acts (one local, one international), and a shuttle brings you from door to door. I think this a great service but if you need transport between Moods and Exil, it may be time to go home. By rotating from one club to the next and back, you should manage to see all acts in all venues. I have two pair of tickets to give away.

The smoking ban certainly changed the going-out-experience. Instead of smoky bars, the crowds gather outside of the venues. This gives Zurich a Mediterranean feel, but already bothers the neighbouring residents.
