This month, Ron Orp's Magazine Zurich concentrates on Geroldstrasse, one of Zurich's shortest but most creative streets. Since the beginning of this year, Evelinn Trouble plays at Helsinki every month. The former punk Lolita is often compared to Björk or Heidi Happy. This Thursday she'll present her latest songs as well as covers of timeless classics. Supported by the guys from Aquarius Delta Space Omega Band. Expect them all to be mellower than usual.

Viadukt is coming to life. The first shops opened their doors last week and this Friday the opening of the exhibition: as far as the lens reaches, is held at Projektbogen 14.  Nine photographers display their works, including impressions of the city. Kunst wollen - wanting art - is an association who supports upcoming artist. Their project, Plattform 10, can be viewed at EWZ Selnau from Saturday. (Well, actually from Wednesday, if you manage that, let me know!). Saturday is held under the topic Amongst Friends, you'll get a tour and then eat and discuss (art I assume).

The guys from the Zurich underground label GS put together the sound for my digital magazine "We are Geroldstrasse". Cheers! They celebrate their sixth anniversary this Saturday at Walcheturm. Of course the line-up includes their own djs (some of Zurich’s best in my opinion). I have to pairs of tickets to give away.

The sun is out and it's time to start looking good. If you need some clothes, check out Kaufleuten Hof this Saturday. Little Black Dress, Lele Pyp, Griesbach and Manu Propria present their spring and summer collections. If you prefer less glam, head over to Schaffhauserstrasse 15, where a flea market is held with new, vintage and second hand clothes.

Unfortunately Fotomuseum Winterthur is still not located in Zurich. So I have to send you out of town to see Subversion of Images - surrealism, photography, and film. The exhibition includes over 400 images by famous photographers.

For five years, Ronin, a so called Zen funk quintet, preformed every Monday at Bazillus Club . For all of you who're missing them, the series goes on at Exil. Between and after the sets there is ambient guitar sound by Bernhard Wagner.

Switzerland has an active film scene, but if you don’t speak one of the local languages, these productions probably pass you by. DVDs are the answer. A large selection is available with English subtitles nowadays. swissdvdshop.ch gives you an overview with reviews in English. And I’ll introduce you to a few gems over the next months, starting with the universe of asylum seekers: La Forteresse (2008). The film features a Swiss reception centre where women, men and children await the state's decision on what's going to happen with them. The film plays with emotion and humour and won the Golden Leopard at the Film Festival Locarno. I have two DVDs to give away.

Tokyo is - amongst many other things - known for very limited space on the tube. Photographer Michael Wolf catched these squeezed moments and created the story board Tokyo Subway Dreams. I feel claustrophobic just by looking at the images.
