Bee Therapy: Natural Results
Apitherapy is, simply said, the use of Bee Products to Prevent, Heal or Recover somebody from one or more diseases/conditions. It is also "the Art and Science of Treatment and Holistic Healing through the honeybee and her products for the benefit of Mankind and all the Animal Kingdom."

The history of apitherapy extends back to ancient Egypt, Greece, and China. Even Hippocrates, the Greek physician known as the "father of medicine," used bee venom to treat arthritis and other joint problems.

Ambrose was one of the four original doctors of the Church in Milan, and is known as the patron saint of bees and beekeepers. There is a legend that as an infant, a swarm of bees settled on his face while he lay in his cradle, leaving behind a drop of honey. His father considered this a sign of his future eloquence and honeyed tongue. For this reason, bees and beehives often appear in the saint's symbology.

PROPOLIS is very effective for SOOTHING and HEALING a SORE THROAT. I simply take a small chunk of propolis--about the size of a fresh pea, put it in my mouth and chew. For the first few moments you have to help keep it together and form it into a chewing-gum-like ball in your mouth (usuallly, till it warms up and softens) and from that point on you can continue to chew it for hours, till it eventually crumbles and disappears (I swallow the crumbs).

The taste is a little peppery, but not too much so, and it's not difficult to adjust to it. The effect it has is soothing to the throat and, from my experience, it speeds recovery.
I always have some propolis to chew in my handbag for personal use or for the use of anyone who is in need and willing to try an unorthodox home medicine :))
