It's astronomy, cosmos meets design shop. I must say it's quite unique and although I was scouting for a free drink, I ended up buying some pretty cool stuff. It's in Niederdorf in Weite Gasse 9, 8001.

THE VEGAN HYPE
I love how all these so-called vegans still drink water That's a fish's house you savages
In light of my previous post several weeks ago, where I go on about food appreciation in a work life environment , I decided that night to treat myself to yet another delectable dinner at my favorite vegan place just around the corner from Zurich HB, forgoing my usual sweet potato wrap as I poorly attempt to lay off carbs after 5PM. I did however enjoy a very succulent green couscous bowl.
Sometimes, soul food is definitely better than sex. Not that I’m getting any at the moment.
Although I’m no actual vegan, just a closeted one, I have come to enjoy the freshness delivered by roots . To top it off, Mattias is always ever the sweetheart when he brings my order with a smile. I’ve basically uncovered their marketing strategy - Hire good looking staff and make good food to trap you into their world of veganism.
It’s a psychological warfare
Funny enough, I used to think vegan was gross. The idea of food being flavorless, boring, we’re just eating grass type of gross. I felt like the term vegan itself had this huge psychological impact because food simply did not taste the same upon mentioning it is vegan. In reality, even a simple plate of pasta with tomato sauce and basil is technically vegan. Silly brain of ours! But that train of thought is slowly changing. I see more and more people embracing the notion of vegan for many different reasons. Mine is purely a health & freshness reason and I think it is so great that we’re opening up more to the idea of creatively mixing ingredients to make something good, even if it is vegan. It's really just a matter of changing your mindset.
More variety. More options. More soul food.
But now leading to my next point. The vegan hype. How authentic is this hype? Don’t get me wrong, I completely respect those who choose to be vegan. My gorgeous animal-loving ginger, Charlotte, is a hard on vegan and whenever we are out and about together in the city, I do make that conscious effort to eat vegan in respect to her choices. So long as she respects the fact that I will eat a nice piece of prime (vegan) steak behind her back when I’m through with her.
But back to my original point
I remember going to Rimini one Friday night, and decided to switch my love for alcohol with Chaya Ice Tea instead. Yes, on very rare occasions, I do make smarter life choices. So imagine my surprise when I see the ice tea bottle labeled ‘100% vegan’. Being the idiot consumer that I am, I thought, Wunderbar! Let me pay those extra francs for vegan ice tea… tea leaves… isn’t that normally vegan by default? I’m sure there must be a logical explanation somewhere in there, but it really made me think about how this term, given the trend, can be so easily exaggerated and manipulated.
Like fair trade coffee at Costa Coffee
If you’ve ever read The Undercover Economist, you would understand what I’m talking about here. The tendency to play on people’s ethical conscious in order to squeeze some extra cash. If you multiply that by millions of consumers who don’t know any better, you’re well on your way to ‘ethical’ wealth, which leaves with the ultimate question, is it really all that worth it?
Meanwhile, as you ponder on that thought, I shall continue brainstorming and sipping on my mean Gorilla smoothie. Till then,

For anyone looking for some good intense work out location, I can highly recommend Atomix Fitness! Jordan does a fantastic job running the place, and I just finished my core/abs workout which was pretty tough. Their protein smoothies are low cal and delicious as well for CHF8. But I think the highlight of the evening is that after a long day's of work and you're tired, you recall why you signed up in the first place when you see this beautiful pooch.

I AM A DREAMER
We’re waking up We’re waking up And right on time And right on time
One Republic | Waking Up
That stage between having a conversation as a child at 25 and a conversation as an adult at 25.
Whilst at The Artisan having dinner with my parents, for the first time in ever really, I was able to connect on multiple levels. To be able to honestly share your thoughts, your feelings and what your understandings of life are. To not be afraid to debate the mind and open the floor for discussion was extremely enlightening. I’ve always admired my father for his ability to find his passion since the age of 17. You see, my father is a rare sea shell collector for those who need a reference. The ones that will explore the seas every weekend, jump on his dive boat and go where no one dares to go without a care about what everyone else is doing, because exactly that, he does what passionates him.
In this regard, I always felt he was a complicated creature to understand, but in reality he is a very simple sea shell. Just a very rare one that requires a very courageous scuba diver willing to dive deep into the depths of the ocean waves to find it. And I am his by-product. This explains our love-hate relationship. We are two peas in a pod yet stubborn as a fucking moscow mule. I carry on his values and teachings whilst simultaneously defining my own as an independent individual and free thinker.
And so I am a dreamer. Day in and day out. Rapidly awakening my soul to the world.
People tend to find their passion at different stages of their lives and I feel like I’ve found mine. My calling is to, very simply, see the world . To immerse in various cultures, to try new experiences and understand the overall architectural landscape of the world, from the Amazonian roots to the high rise floors scraping the skies. But above all, to love, love the world in what beauty it can become instead of that withering flower we always seem to turn it into and then transforming that knowledge into something tangible. Because knowledge is key and tangibility is a solid foundation. The combination is a reflection of your legacy as a human being in this world. Big or small.
It’s sporadic, out of control, not always comprehensible, nor does it always make sense but what it does is that it brings me the biggest natural high and smile you could ever imagine. As I sit in my office in Zug, typing away behind my computer screen over my lunch break, my mind constantly wanders to new locations around the world, dreaming of the people I wish I could share it with, all the while losing myself to the beats of One Republic.
With or without you, I will forever continue to pursue my dreams.
And as I march on, step by step, day by day, goal by goal, I set onward to reaching that vision I wish to see, not just for myself but for the world around me. Sadly, as I’ve heavily mentioned in previous post , these dreams and desires come at a heavy cost of anyone that is holding you back, who don’t understand, or ever bother to simply ask. Of all the memories you shared but need to move on from to build new exciting ones. And as you build these new exciting memories, you embrace the beauty of it all. Yet, at the back of your mind, you always hold on to that hope that one day, just once, you will find that singular person who will want to share that every waking moment with you. The one who will laugh and smile because you are just who you are, a very simple dreamer yet an incomprehensible imperfect mess of a unicorn.
So now the big question and it should NEVER begin with, will you marry me? But rather Will you come see the world with me and build our landscape together, for as long as we both shall live?
If and when that day should ever come, and you know the moment’s right, you know you’ve got yourself a soulmate for life.
Till then, it’s just a dreamer against the world.
